Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal: Part Deux

I meant to post this last week, but I unfortunately got sick and never got it posted. Here is part 2 of our visit to the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.

In addition to the fun and avant garde Warhol Live exhibit, we also wandered through the wide range of permanent exhibits on display at the museum. Being a bit of a nerd, I’ve got to include some historical background. It was founded in 1860, making it Canada’s oldest art institution. It is also the largest museum in Montreal, and is amongst the most prominent museums in Canada (from Wikipedia, click here).

One of the artists we both really liked was the collage-y art of Jean-Michel Basquiat, of Brooklyn, NY, whose work can be seen below.

There was an amazing collection of architectural models of famous buildings, including the iconic Santa Maria del Fiore of Florence, Italy.
