Montreal gets a face-lift…for a price.

Is this work $500,000?

Unveiled a week or so ago, Montreal’s new logo is part of a larger rebranding effort to represent Montreal into the 21st Century.

The city has invested almost half a million dollars in the design to date.  Reviews obviously are mixed.

Read a little more about it here.

To the city’s defense, logos of this stature take an immense amount of planning, cordination and exploration.  And I could see them quicly burning through 500 grand.  Regardless, many people would have a slightly different idea of how the city could invest that amount of dough.

Any thoughts?

  1. I think I’ve heard of similar projects that went into the millions, so it doesn’t surprise me.

p.s. I mentioned your blog on my kitty blog 🙂
